Description

The Visit Altona artwork by Kerrie Gottliebsen celebrates the beautiful Logan Reserve which spans Queen Street, Pier Street, Sargood Street and the Esplanade in Altona. Located opposite Altona beach and pier, the park features the most stunning Moreton Bay Fig trees. I have witnessed these awe inspiring trees, one which is heritage listed by the National Trust, dangling with excited children – including my own. Getting them down is hard work.

One of the trees is approximately 110 years old. They stand tall and proud, offering shade and adventure. The park also offers a rotunda, play equipment, and cafes, deli’s, fish and chip shops and restaurants all in close proximity.

The Visit Altona poster was inspired by the ‘Visit Palestine’ poster by Franz Krausz (1936). It is hanging in a friend’s place and I was captivated by it when I recently saw it for the first time.

The Visit Altona poster can be purchased in A4, A3, A2, A1 and the super enormous A0.

Logan Reserve is on the traditional lands of the Bunurong people. I pay my respects to Elders past and present.
