Williamstown’s Heart – Hobsons Bay Yacht Club

This artwork celebrates the historic Hobsons Bay Yacht Club (HBYC). I’ve long admired the curved brick frontage of the club house that punctuates the roundabout at the end of Ferguson Street Williamstown. Over the years I’ve been fortunate enough to attend weddings, celebrations and baby showers in the gorgeous club rooms that without doubt, enjoy one of the best views of the bay in Melbourne.

The development of the clubhouse, yard, marina, and sailing program continues to evolve, as it has since 1888. The HBYC has a proud history of ocean-racing, volunteer involvement, twilight racing, adult and junior training, a yachting calendar and events. The stunning new upstairs extension has provided a modern bar, extended function space and additional balcony seating. This one’s dedicated to Cat, Owen and Kylie.
