Description

The Williamstown Blunt Boatbuilders artwork celebrates the iconic working shipyard in Nelson Place Williamstown. Greg Blunt is the 5th generation of Blunts to hone his boat building craft at Williamstown’s 160 year-old C Blunt Boatbuilding shipyard. Greg began his working life as a signwriter before completing a boat building/shipwright apprenticeship and now proudly works from the current heritage-listed site repairing vessels of all shapes and sizes in the same manner his Great Grandfather Clem Blunt did in 1858. The working shipyard is a living chapter of maritime history with a 30-tonne shipway and historic pontoon. A recent Living Heritage grant is helping repair and reconstruct its historic jetty.

I worked with Greg on the Art and Industry Festival for the Open Days. His family are significant contributors to the character and history of Williamstown and he is a super nice bloke with a wonderful family.

The artwork is available is A0, A1, A2, A3 and A4 and (soon) tea towels.
