Westside Canvas and Wine
Looking for a fun paint and sip experience in Melbourne’s west?
Westside Canvas and Wine offers relaxed, beginner-friendly classes in Altona where you can unwind, let your hair down, and get creative
in a safe, judgement-free space.
The West's New Paint and Sip Experience
Whether you come solo or with friends, our 2.5-hour painting sessions are all about connection and creativity, no experience needed. Enjoy a glass of wine (or a non-alcoholic option), learn simple painting techniques, and create your own mid-century inspired artwork to take home.
Perfect for girls’ nights, date nights, hen’s parties, mums and dads with kids, the fella’s or anyone searching for a welcoming paint and sip class in the western suburbs of Melbourne.
Kerrie Gottliebsen’s Westside Background
I’ve been painting for as long as I can remember. Art has always been part of who I am, from childhood afternoons with a paintbrush, exhibitions, to the past five years creating over 100 vintage-inspired travel posters. What started as a creative passion has grown into something I now want to share with others.
Westside Canvas and Wine was born from a simple idea: bring people together to create their own mid-century modern inspired posters in a relaxed, welcoming space. You don’t need to be “good at art.” It truly doesn’t matter whether the last thing you painted was a stick figure in primary school, or whether you’re an experienced creative. This is about letting go of judgement, learning a few simple techniques, and rediscovering the joy of making something with your own hands.
Over 2.5 hours, you’ll be guided step-by-step while enjoying a glass of wine, or a non-alcoholic option if you prefer. It’s a chance to switch off, have a laugh, and take a little time just for you. Come on your own and you’ll be amongst friends, or bring a friend (or five!) and make it a shared experience.
I also cater for hen’s parties, date nights, mums or dads with their kids, birthday celebrations, or simply a fun night out doing something different. You’ll leave with your very own artwork, and the pride that comes from being brave enough to try something new.
Because creativity isn’t about perfection. It’s about connection and having a good time.

What’s Included
- All art supplies are provided — canvas, paints, brushes, easels and aprons. You don’t need to bring anything except yourself, some creativity, some courage, and byo whatever you’d like to sip throughout your painting experience.
What to Wear
- Wear comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting paint on. Aprons are provided, but paint may still splatter.
Drinks & Food
- We are BYO for drinks (wine, beer or non-alcoholic options), or you can purchase from the local Coles/Liquorland beforehand. There is a fridge in which to keep your drinks cold.
Arrival
- Guests are asked to arrive 10 minutes early to settle in, find their seat, set up drinks/snacks and get ready before painting starts.
Experience Level
- Everyone is welcome, no painting experience is required. Classes are designed to be relaxed, fun, and judgment-free. I will be guiding you through every step.
Booking & Cancellation
- Advance booking is recommended, as classes can sell out or have limited spaces.
- Refunds or reschedules only prior to 48 hours beforehand.
- A credit or option to reschedule will be offered if cancellation is late or if the event gets cancelled due to low enrolment or other issues.
Age & Group Info
- While our paint and sip sessions are adult focused, children may attend if accompanied by a guardian.
Take-Home Art
You take home your completed painting at the end of the session — it’s yours to keep and display. A group photo will be taken at the completion of the class for social media.
Drinking Responsibly
- Westside Canvas and Wine is all about fun — and that includes drinking responsibly. As part of the booking process, participants will agree to consume alcohol responsibly and respectfully. Our classes are relaxed and social, but they’re not the place to arrive intoxicated. Excessive drinking disrupts the experience for others (and nobody wants to paint beside someone who’s unwell or knocking over paint water).
- Arriving already intoxicated may mean you’re unable to participate, and refunds will not be provided in this circumstance. We want everyone to have an enjoyable, creative 2.5 hours — so pace yourself, stay hydrated, and keep it tidy.
