Description

The Daylesford Tyre Service Speckle poster by Kerrie Gottliebsen pays tribute to the historical landmark, long admired by ghost sign aficionados and lovers of peeling hand painted lettering and vintage signs. I’m a fan of old service stations, probably linked to growing up with one on the corner of my street, and a destination for my dad’s cigarettes which I would plunder on the way home.

Located at 18 Albert St, Daylesford, the tyre service sits inside a heritage structure, from its blacksmith origins to its current role, embedded in a historic precinct shaped by gold mining, blacksmithing, and later mechanical services. It stands as both a functional business and a tangible link to the town’s 19th‑century industrial past.

The Daylesford Tyre Service is a family-run establishment, with Mick and Sparra, who are both local to the area, leading the business. They provide expert tyre advice and service to the community, including Daylesford, Shepherds Flat, Glenlyon, Musk, and Hepburn
