Newport Nights

This artwork pays homage to Newport’s Masonic Hall. Located at 405 Melbourne Road Newport, the Masonic Temple No. 5925 has been knocked back for development as being culturally, historically, and socially significant, and has fallen into disrepair. The Neo-Grecian building was designed by architect Joseph Plottel. Anyone who travels through Newport to Williamstown, Altona or Seaholme along Melbourne Road will see it as they pass Mason Street (and who doesn’t love getting the green arrow turning right into Mason Street amiright?). The iconic building would be a great location for a restaurant, cafe or art business. At the moment it’s a popular home for pigeons.
